Arabic Parts

Arabic Parts, historically classified as Astrological Lots or Kleroi in ancient Greek, are calculated mathematical points used in horoscopic astrology. Developed in Hellenistic tradition and extensively preserved and expanded by medieval Arabic scholars, a Lot is calculated using the algebraic formula A + B – C, typically mapping the distance between two celestial bodies relative to the horizon. Unlike  physical planets, Lots are abstract geometric coordinates designed to index specific life topics, such as inheritance, health, or social status, within an astrological chart, with the primary reference point in this system being the Part of Fortune.
